Glide into year three of Indy’s downtown ice skating tradition at Elevance Health Rink beginning Nov. 21

The magic of winter returns to downtown Indianapolis as the Elevance Health Rink at Morris Bicentennial Plaza opens for the season on Nov. 21, and the public is invited to celebrate opening day. The celebration tips off with public skating starting at 11 a.m., and the first 100 guests will receive free hot cocoa or cider. Live music from DJ Lockstar begins at 4:30 p.m. followed by special appearances by Boomer, Freddy Fever and the Pacemates.

General admission tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. on Nov. 14 at GainbridgeFieldhouse.com/IceSkating.

“We’re thrilled to welcome guests back to the Elevance Health Rink for another great season,” said Mel Raines, president and CEO of Pacers Sports & Entertainment. “This rink has become a festive gathering place in the heart of our city where families, friends and visitors can enjoy the downtown atmosphere, make memories, and celebrate the season together.”

A new, special promotion allows fans to show their Indiana Pacers game-day ticket the day of or the day after their game to receive free skate rental.

Upcoming Events

The Elevance Health Rink will host several events throughout the season:

  • Opening Day (Nov. 21): Enjoy appearances by Boomer, Freddy Fever and the Pacemates, while DJ Lockstar provides live music. The first 100 guests will receive free hot cocoa or cider.
  • Cosmic Skating (Nov. 26): A pre-Thanksgiving glow skate night.
  • Santa and Mrs. Claus Visits (Dec. 21–23): Guests can meet Santa, Mrs. Claus and their reindeer.
  • Martin Luther King Jr. Day Free Skate (Jan. 19): Complimentary skating in celebration of the holiday.

Rink Hours and Amenities

The rink will be open to the public on Fridays and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sundays from 1 to 9 p.m.
 The rink will open daily during students’ winter break, Dec. 18–Jan. 4.

On-site amenities include $10 skate sharpening, as well as skate and skating aid rentals available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Private rink rentals are available Monday through Thursday throughout the season.
