The Indiana High School Athletic Association is pleased to announce that Gainbridge Fieldhouse in downtown Indianapolis will serve as the new site of the IHSAA Girls Volleyball State Finals beginning next fall.
The world-class venue will play host to the four state championship matches that make up the 54th annual state finals scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 8, 2025.
"We are happy to announce that beginning next fall, the IHSAA Girls Volleyball State Finals will be played at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, the home of our friends and partners the Indiana Fever and Indiana Pacers,” said IHSAA Commissioner Paul Neidig.
“We are confident that this move will offer an unforgettable experience for all participants in a centrally located site for teams and spectators from around the state.”
“Additionally, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to Ball State University for the remarkable support and experiences they have provided to our student-athletes over the past 18 years."
Ball State’s Worthen Arena had served as the host site of the event since 2007.
“We are thrilled to host the IHSAA Girls Volleyball State Finals at Gainbridge Fieldhouse and look forward to celebrating the talent, determination and passion of our young Hoosier athletes,” Pacers Sports & Entertainment CEO Mel Raines said. “It’s a great atmosphere for families and communities to come together to see their teams compete for a championship and make memories that will last a lifetime.”
With this move, Gainbridge Fieldhouse will be the site of four IHSAA state championship events with boys wrestling, girls basketball and boys basketball contested there each February and March.
About the Indiana High School Athletic Association, Inc. (IHSAA)
The IHSAA is a voluntary, not-for-profit organization that is self-supporting without the use of tax monies. Since its founding in 1903, the Association’s mission has been to provide wholesome, educational athletics for the secondary schools of Indiana. Its 409-member high schools - public, institutional, parochial, and private – pay no annual membership fee or incur entry fees to play in the Association’s tournaments. A state tournament series is conducted annually in 24 sports, 11 for girls, 11 for boys and two co-eds (unified flag football, unified track and field). A 19-person board of directors, elected by member school principals, governs the organization.
