Our Commitment to Equity & Social Justice

Social Justice

Pacers Sports & Entertainment stands alongside those fighting against the systemic racism and injustice that permeates our community. We affirm the value and dignity of every person of color. We will be guided by our commitment to equity and responsibility to all marginalized communities to use the power of our organization to find meaningful, measurable solutions to eradicate racism. We acknowledge that we must begin by challenging our own policies, principles, and processes and holding ourselves accountable, just as we must be willing to publicly hold our leaders accountable. Through collective action we will listen, learn, grow, lead, and invest in civic engagement to create a positive sustainable effect on Black lives and communities.

Our city, state, and nation are in the midst of a social justice awakening that is challenging corporate America to do better. The status quo is simply not good enough, and the challenge before us is to sustain the outrage we all feel and channel it into solutions-oriented action. The Inclusive Excellence Action Committee (IEAC) was created to bring to life that very effort. The IEAC is challenging and strengthening the way our organization Invests, Grows, Listens, and Leads developing strategies to help PS&E meet its key internal and external goals.

IEAC Goals

  • Me: Connect and engage every employee through inclusive leadership development training & processes
  • We: Develop a nationally recognized supplier diversity program
  • CommunityAdopt a social justice agenda and commitment that a majority of our philanthropic resources will support

IEAC Core Principles

  • We will invest where we can make the most equitable impact
  • Propelling people is often the most powerful resource
  • We will grow cultural intelligence
  • Cultural competency and supplier diversity benefit everyone
  • We will listen through multiple channels and serve as a social anchor
  • Leveraging Gainbridge Fieldhouse as a true community asset should be realized
  • We will lead, incent, and reward employee engagement
  • Supporting our employees’ efforts is leadership personified

Our workplan is more than just a clear statement of PS&E’s ongoing commitment to diversity, equity and Inclusion. It is a tool through which we will define and measure how we will use our resources, identify policies that may need modification/improvement, develop our workforce, and attract new talent. The Executive Leadership team will track our progress against the action items we know will make us a stronger company. We will use the principles we have outlined as guideposts as we look to invest in partner organizations also committed to address systemic racism and social injustice.

We’re excited about the work ahead!  We are proud of the action-oriented workplan we have, assembled!  And we are grateful to be part of a company that supports this important visionary recommendation becoming reality.
